In October, The Jig had a marvelous short tour in Germany. The band did gigs in Lünen, Krefeld, Hamburg and Berlin. Look at the video here. The Bart Lust Quintet is well known for its highly energetic modal Jazz. Memorable for their solid horn parts, Bart’s Trombone and Tom Beek’s tenor sax are backed up by an amazing rhythm section. The recent Christmas release by The Soul Snatchers is not the first Xmas classic coming from Dordrecht. Earlier Ton & Phil (The Soul Snatchers rhythm section and producers) recorded an Xmas traditional with British soul singer Laura Vane. Besides having a great time this will result in a full album which is due to be released on Unique Records in March 2013. Finally it’s there, the long awaited new Scallymatic Orchestra album to honor Jimi Hendrix, released on – what would have been – his seventieth birthday. Name and artwork of the new project have been revealed. The album is going to be called ‘Band of Scallies’!
