Organiced Crime
This Rotterdam (NL) based organ trio is formed around organ player Govert van der Kolm and completed with Jens Kirpestein (dr) and Florian von Frieling (gt).
The members of the trio got to know each other at the conservatoire of Rotterdam and their love for grooving and soulful jazz brought them together. After some steaming hot jam sessions at school the three decided that is was time to become a band and build some repertoire. Out of this decision to become partners in crime for playing cool music the name OrganIcedCrime was found.
The repertoire that OrganIcedCrime plays consists mainly of deep grooving music with a screaming Hammond organ with pedals, firmly pushing drums and the fat sound of an old jazz guitar. The pieces are mainly from the ’60′s. In spite of their young age you can hear that this period in music is deeply injected in their playing. The trio sounds like the organ trio’s from the good days of Blue Note.
A gig with OrganIcedCrime is an evening where it’s guaranteed that nobody can stand still. The trio is famous and notorious for it’s energetic shows in which all three members stretch to the edge to make the audience dance. The energy of these three young man splashes of the stage.
Whenever wanted the trio can be extended with nobody less then singer Simone Roerade (o.a. Candy Dulfer) and Saxotone Meijer (Nighthawks) on tenor saxophone.
An OrganIcedCrime gig: That’s where you want to be, move with the music, dance, swing or just float on the groove that takes you to the sounds of the ’60′s and ’70′s.
OrganIcedCrime cannot be held responsible for any costs for dry-cleaning of soaked clothing from dancing!
